Amazon Japan site will enforce the VTR policy
On April 27, Amazon issued an important notice concerning changes in the calculation of effective tracking rates for Japanese sites.
The original text is as follows:
In the email on December 23, 2020 with the subject of [Important] Implementation of VTR Performance Management, it was announced that in order to further improve customer satisfaction, we will use “effective tracking rate” (VTR) as an item required for sales on Amazon. index.
Visualizing tracking information on Amazon can not only reduce the number of buyer contacts, but also increase seller feedback ratings and seller self-fulfillment (MFN) product purchase motivation.
We would like to inform you of two changes in VTR calculation via this email. We consider that multiple products in the same order may be packaged and shipped separately, and the consumption tax rate may vary from country to country. We expect that these changes will make it easier to maintain a healthy VTR. The updated VTR indicator is now available in your “Account Status” panel.
Before the change:
VTR is calculated by order
Japanese sellers orders of 2,000 yen and above* (consumption tax included), and Chinese sellers (including Hong Kong, China) orders of 1,000 yen and above* (consumption tax).
After the change:
VTR is calculated based on shipped packages
Japanese sellers with packages of 2000 yen and above* (excluding consumption tax), and Chinese sellers (including Hong Kong sellers) with packages of 1000 yen and above* (excluding consumption tax)
* Including shipping
After the change, orders promised to be delivered on or after June 1, 2021 will be included in the 30-day VTR rolling measurement period. We will enforce the VTR policy from July 15, 2021.
